Minutes of 11th April 2009 Meeting

Fixture Posters

Blue Square Premier Fixtures start on Saturday August 8th. Pre-Season Fixture Poster to be set up for the beginning of July. August/September fixture poster to be set up for the beginning of August. Action: Chris Ainsworth

TASC Advertising Board

Chris Ainsworth produced a couple of examples which were discussed and Chris will use the feedback to produce the final version. Action: Chris Ainsworth

Match Billboards

Tesco, Sainsburys and Aldi all contacted and requested that our request to advertise matches is put in writing. Brian Flynn to put letter content together and send to Grahame Rowley for distribution via the Football Club. Grahame Rowley to contact Trafford Borough Council to find out if it is possible to advertise matches in the Town Centre.

Steve Foster proposed that the minutes were accepted and this was seconded by Anthony Wright.

Fundraising Update

Race Night

Brian Flynn reported that this year's Race Night was a success with a profit of £1,193.00. This figure included a deduction of £110 which was the agreed 65% contribution to Fun Racing towards the microphone broken on the night.

There are still four payments for horses outstanding.

A date will be set for next year's event once the Blue Square Premier fixtures are released. Horses will be sold at £10 instead of £5. Sponsoring a race will stay the same at £25. Barm cakes on the night went well and looking to do something like this again.

Bin Stickers

Brian Flynn confirmed that a £122 profit has been made and that this is a venture which can continue into the new season. 80 Bin Stickers sold.

Brian Flynn displayed a banner which he had produced for his son's 18th Birthday.This included the Altrincham team crest and we will promote these next season with a guide selling price of £20.

Harbingers

Brian Flynn confirmed that 51 tickets had been sold for this event held on Saturday 25th April. The total profit was £204. It was an excellent night and we will arrange a repeat gig during next season.

SOS (Strengthen Our Squad)

£2497.30p was the total amount which was raised from donations and bucket collections. Thanks to those people who made donations and to the team of bucket collectors.

Recycling used mobile phones

Steve Foster confirmed that phones are still coming in.

Raffle for Overnight Stay with the Team

This raised £122 and was won by Brian Newhall. We will look to do this earlier next season.

Supporters' Golf Day

Brian Flynn confirmed that a date of Friday 24th July has been agreed with Mobberley Golf Club. The day will consist of:-

  • Tea/coffee, bacon roll prior to event.
  • 18 holes golf
  • Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
  • Goody bags for golfers
  • Cost of day, looking at around £25-£30.
  • Preferred start time is around 1-1.30pm.

    Action: Brian Flynn to confirm details & publicise event.

    A-bay for Alty

    Dave Tracey has come up with the idea of selling unwanted items on Ebay with the money going to the football club. Mike Ainsworth and Dave Tracey to put together a detailed proposal for the June Meeting. Action: Dave Tracey/Mike Ainsworth

    Membership Update

    Membership stands at 74. Mike Ainsworth confirmed that there was some membership post at the club.

    Altrincham Festival

    4th July. Dawn Abbott to get paperwork together. Brian Flynn to speak with Geoff Goodwin regarding vehicle.

    'Square Up' Competition

    Brian Flynn thanked Simon Ellis, Adam Martell and Steve Raftery for their help in organising and carrying out the 'keepie uppie' competition during the season. Unfortunately the competition winner, Gary Stuart, was unable to attend the 'Play Off Final' at Gateshead.

    Calendar

    Peter Foster to look into getting an 18 month calendar started with sponsorship.
