Minutes of 5th February 2009 Meeting

Poker Night

Mike Ainsworth has spoken with his contact who runs the poker nights, but he has not yet come back to him.

Fixture Poster.

Chris Ainsworth to issue new fixture list and poster covering games to the end of the season.

The Old Fashioned Football Shirts/Pub Crawl

To be placed on hold for the time being

Mike Ainsworth recommended that we did not pursue this as the revenue generating possibilities were limited.

Gareth Thomas proposed that the minutes were accepted and this was seconded by Steve Foster.

Fundraising

Race Night Funracing race night 18th April 7.00pm for 7.30pm start. Cost to sponsor a race £25. Cost to sponsor a horse, £5. Triple Chance sheets are ready. Master Copy of the races to be left in the main office. Mike Ainsworth to co-ordinate. Race night to be a ticket only night. £3 for non-members, £2 for members

Internet Player of The Year and Goal of the Season to be presented during the evening.The Player of the Season & Tom Earley Trophy will be presented after the final home game of the season against Grays Athletic. Dawn Abbott to talk to Keith Davey regarding preparing about 40 barm cakes for the evening and selling them at a £1 each.

Bin Stickers

23 were sold at the Stevenage Borough game on February 28th.

Harbingers

Date as been set for the 25th April. Tickets to be priced at £4. Printing of the tickets at the club. Brian Flynn to organise tickets. Gareth Thomas has a friend who is in a U2 tribute band who is willing to do a free gig around September time.

SOS (Strengthen Our Squad)

Amount raised is broadly the same as per previous meeting i.e. over £1,000. Mike Ainsworth confirmed that the money collected from the buckets is going into the SOS fund. At the end of the season the amount will be confirmed.

Recycling used mobile phones

Steve Foster confirmed that 80 phones have been handed in so far. These will raise over £500.

Raffle for Travel on Team Coach

Will be the trip to Cambridge on Sunday April 26th. If we are not in a safe position in the league at that point the prize will roll over to next season and will then become an overnight stay with the team. Tickets are going to be priced at £2 a ticket or 3 for a £5. The objective is to raise about £200. Tickets will be sold on the supporters' coaches to Witton, Ebbsfleet & Lewes and on the terrace when we play Wrexham away. Also in the bar after home games.

Membership Update

Anthony Wright confirmed that membership to date is:

  • STAR membership to be transferred to TASC 37
  • Corporate Members 1
  • Lapsed 202
  • Life Members 45

    Membership letters to go out. Welcome letter to also go out. Aims and Objectives to go out in pack. Brian to speak with Paul Daine regarding collating & labelling letters. Gareth Thomas has designed a new membership card and is looking to have fixture list sent out with membership pack. The monthly draw for two people to enjoy hospitality in the Sponsors' Lounge is planned for the Crawley game on the 28th March. Brian to check with Lisa Jones.

    Supporters'Away Travel

    Gareth Thomas confirmed that he had spoken with Tom Jacobs regarding a discount for TASC members on the away coach. Gareth reported that a £1 discount for each match would take place and this may be increased by Tom Jacobs on an ad hoc basis.

    Any Other Business(A.O.B)

    The STAR perimeter board to be replaced with a new TASC one. Chris Ainsworth to design. New website will be up running soon. Brian Flynn to email out for a volunteer to keep the site content updated. Steve Foster to talk with Ian Rosendaal regarding this.

    The next meeting to be held on Saturday 11th April 2009 in The Noel White Suite, Altrincham Football Club at 11am.
