The Altrincham FC Supporters' Club - TASC

    Minutes of 29th November 2008 Meeting

    Poker Nights

  • Mike Ainsworth ascertained that when looking into this he has found that most suppliers also take some of the Bar takings. Mike confirmed he will provided more details at the next meeting.
  • Brian Flynn to speak with Mark Harris at Witton Albion regarding how their Poker nights work.

    Fixtures Poster

    Chris Ainsworth will send the poster to Brian Flynn by January 16th.

    The Old Fashioned Football Shirts/Pub Crawl

    Pub Crawl on hold for the moment. We are looking to get that started once the 'Slim for Alty' scheme finishes.

    Gareth Thomas proposed that the minutes were accepted and this was seconded by Steve Foster.

    Fund-raising

    New Year's Day Raffle

    Sale of tickets: Gareth Thomas was able to confirm that 650 books have been sold so far and Ian Jones confirmed that a total of £1353.20 had been banked by the Football Club. Please find attached Ian's ticket sales breakdown. There are approximately 135 books still to be handed back in.

    New Year's Draw to take place in The Noel White Suite at 5.30pm on Saturday 7th February after the Eastbourne Borough game.

    SOS (Strengthen Our Squad)

    Mike Ainsworth confirmed that the bucket collections at half time will continue to be used to fund this scheme until the end of the season. Amount raised at the moment is in four figures.

    Race Night

    Looking to have that booked in for the Grays game on Saturday April 18th. Mike Ainsworth or Darren Gregory to check with Peter Lewis.

    Peter Foster suggested looking at producing a calendar for next season maybe August 2009 to December 2010 month calendar. We would endeavour to get each page sponsored.

    MySquare Pitch Sponsorship

    Need to push the sales of the squares before the start of next season.

    Recycling Used mobile phones

    Gareth Thomas to speak to Pete Hughes to see if he will organise this initiative, having come up with the idea.

    Peter Foster suggested trying to get Students to help sell tickets for different things before the game e.g. Guess the attendance. We could look at paying them an amount or commission or giving them free entry to the game.

    General

    Mike Ainsworth confirmed that the E-bay money will go straight to the Football Club and not be counted as TASC raised revenue.

    Bag 2 the Future

    Darren Gregory was able to confirm that £104 was raised and around 100 bags handed back in. Darren confirmed that he will chase the cheque this week. The cheque is being made out to the Football club.

    Brian Flynn thanked Darren on behalf of the TASC Committee for coming up with this idea & implementing it so successfully.

    Christmas lunch for Pensioners

    Dave Johnson's idea raised £252 and was enjoyed by all. Brian Flynn to speak to Dave Johnson to see if he can do something for Mother's Day in March. Brian Flynn thanked Dave Johnson for proposing this idea and doing such an excellent job on the day.

    Future Ideas

  • Golf day at Mobberley Golf Club. Brian Flynn will get in touch with Eric Grindley one of the Vice Presidents and Captain of Mobberley Golf Club.
  • Brian Flynn Confirmed that the group Harbingers would do a gig for the club. Date and details to be confirmed.
  • Fundraising at Manchester United Reserve games e.g. selling Golden Goals. We decided against this at present but Grahame Rowley will discuss with Manchester United for next season.

    Membership

    Brian Flynn confirmed that Anthony Wright has agreed to be the new Membership Secretary. Annual Membership will not be January to December as per the minutes of the November 29th 2008 meeting. It will be a rolling 12-month membership.

    Discount on the Supporters' Coach to be looked at for TASC members.

    Aims/Objectives

    These were presented by Gareth Thomas and are to be distributed to TASC Committee Members to agree.

    Any other Business(AOB)

  • Darren Gregory asked if anyone had any unwanted Christmas gifts if so what about a car boot sale when the weather gets better
  • Naming of the 'Golf Road End' separate draw at the end of the season. Grahame Rowley has confirmed that this event can be either a supporters or corporate draw.
  • Brian Flynn thanked Gareth Thomas and Steve Foster for the work in which they had been doing for the TASC programme page.
  • Grahame Rowley is organising a corporate 5-a-side competition & looking for teams to compete in this.
  • Ian Jones was able to relay back to the group that Lisa Jones has been in talks with a local Estate Agents to place a welcome pack of the club into there own welcome pack when selling local houses.

    Next meeting to be held on Thursday 5th February 2008 at the Railway Hotel in Hale at 8pm
